  • In Egypt men dominate life.
  • Men governed their households and also dominated public life.
  • However women made their influence felt in ancient Eyptian societies.
  • A select few women obtained a formal education and worked as scribes.
  • Women of the royal family frequently served as regents for young rulers.
Family and kinship
  • Family played a pretty big role.
  • Each family member had a role to keep things running smoothly

  • Unlike any othercivilizations, there was one supreme pharoah and not a series of kings.
  • There was very little room for noble class in Egypt.
  • Even though there was very little noble class, they lived considerably better then the common people.
  • The royal people had gold, jewels, paintings and many other exotic items put into their grave when they died.
  • Common people and pesants had a very normal burial and had a few jewels, pottery and other family heirlooms.
  • A common person even could rise up through social classes and become high status.
